The Stone Church
The heart of the mission with its distinctive Moorish bell tower and star-shaped window. Inside, you'll find Father Serra's tomb and some genuinely beautiful religious art.
Mission Museum
Houses Serra's actual cell (reconstructed) and artifacts from the mission period. The kitchen and living quarters give you a real sense of daily life here.
Memorial Garden
A peaceful courtyard cemetery where early settlers and Native Americans are buried. The old headstones and flowering plants create an unexpectedly moving atmosphere.
Mission Gardens
Well-maintained grounds with native plants and flowers that bloom throughout the year. Perfect for wandering and surprisingly good for photos.
The Quadrangle
The original mission layout with workshops, living quarters, and storage areas. You can actually walk through and imagine what a self-sufficient community this was.

Late morning or early afternoon for the best light in the church and gardens. Spring brings wildflowers, but it's beautiful year-round
